Helping Older Adults Care for God’s Creatures
For many seniors, a pet is more than a companion — it’s family, comfort, and daily joy. But getting to the store, lifting heavy bags of food, or arranging vet visits can be challenging. Trucks for Pups partners with shelters, rescues, churches, and community groups to help older adults keep and care for the animals they love. We provide practical, hands-on support so seniors don’t have to choose between their own needs and their pets’ wellbeing.
How We Help
We work through community partners and animal organizations to offer: ### Pet Supply Support for Seniors - Delivery of pet food, litter, and basic supplies to eligible seniors - Coordination with shelters and rescues to share donated items - Help organizing local pet food drives that benefit older adults on fixed incomes
Transportation for Pets & Their People
- Assistance coordinating safe transport for pets to veterinary appointments
- Support for senior-focused clinics and mobile vet events through our trucks and volunteers
- Collaboration with partners to make sure seniors aren’t missing critical care for their animals because of transportation barriers
Help for Senior-Focused Animal Programs
- Support for “Seniors & Pets” outreach through churches, senior centers, and community groups
- Assistance with adoption or foster programs that match senior-friendly animals with older adults
- Logistical help for events that bring therapy animals or adoptable pets to senior communities
Friendly, Compassionate Support
Our goal is to make life a little easier for both seniors and their animals. By working with trusted community partners, we help:
- Keep pets in loving homes instead of entering shelters
- Reduce stress and loneliness for older adults
- Ensure animals receive the care and supplies they need
